Great to see the Greek Australian Conversations fostering great big conversations that connect democracy and sovereignty right now as we consider whose voices should be heard in the public space – and whose voices are diminished when anti-democratic, elitist monarchy is the default.
Join us 3:00pm AEDT Sunday 22 February, 2026
At PATRIS, 140 Barkly Street Brunswick East
I’ll be in conversation with George Vassilacopoulos, who has been a community activist since his arrival in Australia in 1974. He is an adjunct member of the Philosophy Program at La Trobe University where he has long taught philosophy. George’s most recent books are A Genocide Alphabet (re.press, 2025) and Τίνος πατρίδα είναι; (urtext, 2025), both co-authored with Toula Nicolacopoulos, and Ashpoems (re.pres).
